Following the acquisition of a majority interest in Brabant Mobiel B.V. with registered offices in Oosterhout (near Rotterdam) in the Netherlands, the Bilfinger Berger Industrial Services Group (BIS Group) is strengthening its position in the Benelux market by adding a potent new unit specialising in premium-quality industrial surface protection. The new company is contributing 130 employees and annual revenues of over EUR 22 million to the BIS Group. It is being integrated as an independent unit within BIS Industrial Services Nederland B.V.
With annual revenues of around EUR 250 million, the BIS Group already leads the industrial scaffolding market in Benelux and is a major provider of insulation and piping. “We have been working closely with Brabant Mobiel for more than ten years in surface protection activities for SIP (scaffolding, insulation, painting) contracts”, explains Bert van der Burght, the general manager of the BIS Group in the Netherlands and Belgium: “The acquisition of this company will now allow us to broaden our range of services in Benelux in a crucial area, ensuring that we are well positioned to accommodate our customers’ rising demand for SIP contracts.”
Brabant Mobiel’s customers include renowned oil and chemicals companies, power station operators, the steel and aluminium industry and shipyards. The company has continued to grow against the backdrop of the challenging conditions of the past few years and has particularly made a name for itself with wind power projects. In addition to qualified and experienced employees, the company’s management will oversee its successful integration within the BIS Group. Says Dr. Peter Romanow, a member of the BIS Group’s Executive Board, responsible for Western Europe: “Integration within the BIS Group opens up new prospects of growth for Brabant Mobiel. It will help us to continue our extraordinarily favourable business performance in the Netherlands and Belgium and to additionally reinforce our market leadership.”
